It absolutely doesn’t get more comfortable than Boathouse Lane. With high end décor and all the comforts and spaciousness of home, this cabin is perfectly cozy for a couple but it really shines as a gathering place to for a multi-generational family or a small group of friends.
The Location: Boathouse Lane is perfectly situated in the corridor between Highlands and Cashiers. It’s in a quaint community of old growth trees and with the serene backdrop of Lake Ravenel . It’s just far enough from the beaten path that you will have privacy but close enough that dinner/shopping on Main Street is quick jaunt away.
The Property: Boathouse Lane is privately located on a and has the privacy of having no other homes on the street. The neighborhood takes attention to detail seriously and has meticulously captured the natural beauty of the areas while blending in charming high-end homes. There is a small grass yard for frolicking and beautiful landscaping that is indigenous to the area.
The Cabin: Boathouse Lane has all brand new high end finishes, including shiplap wood walls, tongue and groove ceilings, soaring windows with beautiful natural views, and a large stone hearth fireplace. For sleeping, boathouse has 3 King suites and a sleeping loft with 2 twin beds. Outside boasts a second wood-burning fireplace, a spacious outdoor screened porch with comfy furnishings, and a dock fitted with 2 rocking chairs perfect for donning a blanket and watching the sunset.
The Layout: From the front door, guests enter into an old world wood foyer that spills into the large dining area set up for 8. Beyond that is a seating area with 4 club chairs overlooking the lake. This backs up to the spacious living room with 2 large comfy sofas and 2 wingback chairs with ottomans perfect for conversing or watching a movie. This large open floorplan also boasts a nice sized kitchen with 4 counter stools to visit with the chef. A sliding door in the dining room leads to an oversized screen porch with wood-burning fireplace and tv that is begging guests to cozy up and watch football all day. There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor, a King master suite with an impressively large his and hers ensuite bathroom (featuring his and hers toilets, vanities, a double-sided shower, and a large soaking tub). A second King bedroom on the main floor opens onto the screened porch and also has an en-suite bath with stand alone shower. Upstairs leads to another gathering area with sectional sofa perfect for getting away from the group to curl up with a good book. On one side is an oversized King suite with a double vanity and seamless shower. Also upstairs is a quaint bunkroom with 2 twin beds and a view of the lake and a small bathroom with stand up shower.
The Area: Highlands is the premier mountain destination in the Southeast. Lined with shopping, dining, museums and galleries, the bustling mountain village centering around Main Street is straight from a Norman Rockwell painting. Previously a summer/fall hotspot, it’s quickly becoming a year-round destination. At 4,118 feet, it’s one of the few temperate rain forests in North America, bringing botanists and nature lovers from all over the world. Highlands is also a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. With an abundance of opportunities for biking, hiking, horseback riding, tubing, canoeing, fly fishing, and whitewater rafting, adventure-seekers will not find a more beautiful backdrop.
The Details: The living room and 3 King bedrooms have large flat screen TV’s and streaming capabilities. The kitchen has an large chef’s range, toaster, drip coffee-maker and is stocked with general kitchen essentials and then some. Parking for up to 4 cars is available. This property is located within the gated community which requires a 1 week minimum rental- we ONLY rent this property weekly or monthly (no rentals under 7 nights will be considered). Rentals are Saturday to Saturday. Guests have access to the entire property with the exception of the garage or detached woodshop.
