From added comforts such as a gas fireplace and patio overlooking 5th Street, guests will feel an immediate sense of tranquility. This property is truly a breath of fresh mountain air.
The Location: Parkside is conveniently located right in downtown Highlands just one block off Main Street on the corner of Kelsey Hutchinson Park and Fifth Street.
The Property: Parkside is located in a boutique 2 story mixed use building, just above Elevated Properties of Highlands. The private balcony overlooking Fifth Street entices renters to sit and relax while still being a part of the charmingly active scene that downtown Highlands has to offer. Listen to the live music in the park from the comfort of your own abode, walk to the artist’s market or to dinner. If you want to take advantage of all Highlands has to offer, there is no better spot to do so.
The Loft: From the sun bleached white oak floors to shiplap accents and a waterfall countertop in the kitchen, this loft has thoughtful, professionally designed touches throughout that make guests want to return again and again. Warm up to the gas fireplace in the living room or sink into the plush living room furniture after a long day of adventuring. Four patio chairs allow guests to converse over a glass of wine while people-watching above downtown Highlands. With 4 counter stools for dining, this eat in kitchen has everything chef needs to create a meal fit for a King. The use of natural light is a lovely addition to the clean lines and accents of blue throughout the space.
The Layout: Guests enter through a private side entrance and ascend up the interior stairs to the back side of the loft before entering to an open floor plan. The kitchen and living space have access to an elevated front patio that runs the entire length of the unit. Both bedrooms have private entrances off the main living space. The master has an ensuite bathroom with walk in shower, large walk in closet, and access to front patio. The guest bath has a sizable soaking tub and shares accessibility with the main living areas.
The Area: Highlands is the premier mountain destination in the Southeast. Lined with shopping, dining, museums and galleries, the bustling mountain village centering around Main Street is straight from a Norman Rockwell painting. Previously a summer/fall hotspot, it’s quickly becoming a year-round destination. At 4,118 feet, it’s one of the few temperate rain forests in North America, bringing botanists and nature lovers from all over the world.
Highlands is also a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. With an abundance of opportunities for biking, hiking, horseback riding, tubing, canoeing, fly fishing, and whitewater rafting, adventure-seekers will not find a more beautiful backdrop.
The Details: The living room has a 65'“ flat screen smart TV and standard cable channels. We also have wifi. All of the bedding is plush and comfy- the Master bedroom has a king bed and the guest bedroom is a queen. The kitchen is stocked with general kitchen essentials and has 4 counter stools for dining. Additionally, the patio has 4 chairs for lounging outdoors. 2 parking spaces are provided and street parking are available as well. This property is not pet friendly and not conducive to children.
